Do you know that God is not a distant force?

… and did you know that God is not a ‘religion’ but stands above all ideas as the final Authority?

God is our Creator. God is the Source of life. God loves you. God calls you.

How can we know this Higher Being when we are sinful (have wrong thoughts and wrong attitudes that don’t please God?) We cannot make God accept us by trying to do ‘religious works’ or by doing ‘spiritual’ things by man’s ideas. God already loves us, because He created the human race. He gives us the air that we breathe, the seasons of each year, the provisions to feed us.

But we need to receive God’s forgiveness and to enter God’s Presence. Can we admit that we are selfish, full of pride, unforgiving, impatient, unclean? But that we can receive a ‘right spirit’ and be ‘transformed by the renewing of our minds’?

The holy scriptures called the Bible teaches us that Jesus came as the Word of God. That He already existed with God and as God (called the Son of God), and came into our world in due time to be the Saviour of the world. God has made the way for sinful people to receive His grace. He also sent His Spirit to give us the power to live for Jesus. Our own ideas and limited strength is not enough. We need help from above us.

God is One Transcendent Being, revealed as Father, Son & Holy Spirit: co-existing ‘persons’ within the one God. This means that God is relational. That God is love. That God calls us into this holy relationship, offering forgiveness for our sins and a new spiritual life.
